25 for 25…

Instead of one list of 25 accomplishments, quirks, whatever…I came up with three different lists of 25.  Books, cd’s and movies.

Countdown to 25

1. I have yet to eat at the Red Arrow
2. I’m still astonished that I only recently saw all of “Sweet Home Alabama”
3. Getting small hints about stuff and waiting to find out the whole thing later makes me crazy
4. I’m so cool I text pics and videos to Facebook and Twitter…hahaha
5. people who don’t like pickles is a concept that baffles me
6. I never liked country music til I went away to school for 2 years…thanks to all those country music lovin’ shuttle drivers at PBU…
7. falling asleep while Charles Stanley is on isn’t nearly as frightening or loud as waking up to Creflo Dollar screaming about who knows what is…

9. I hate driving in the snow and rain, especially when I don’t know where I’m going and it’s dark!
10.  I experienced a charlie horse for the first time early this morning…it hurt so bad I thought my leg was gonna fall off below the knee
11. ever since 9/11 I get weirdly emotional and all teary during the Star Spangled Banner
12. I got a text from a friend today, I knew it was a song lyric but couldn’t think of which song.  I googled it and discovered two things… I know the song and I have it on my ipod!
13. Valentine’s Day is the most obnoxious holiday ever…for real.
14. popping sheets of bubble wrap brings me much enjoyment
15. not getting tons of snow like we’re “supposed to” makes me extremely happy
16. mayonnaise on cheese steak is the nasty thing ever…I cringe when people here ask if I want any on my “steak and cheese”…eww!
17. I am definitely not a fan of beer…tastes like sweat…don’t know why people like it
18. I have tendinitis in both thumbs, one wrist and one hand.
19. I really only watched Florida Gator football games to see what verse Tim Tebow was sporting on his eye black
20. if I could meet three living people they would definitely be Jennie Finch, Jamie Tworkowski and Josh Hamilton
21. Bebo Norman, Sara Groves and Matthew West…okay it’s time for Lincoln Brewster in Manchester for sure!
22. I love that Twitter makes it possible to kinda get inside scoop and personal thoughts from all kinds of people of many different professions and fame
23. McDonald’s Premium Roast coffee always makes me feel like I got punched in the head
24. it doesn’t matter if I hear her live in person or on my ipod…Natalie Grant’s songs (well certain ones) make me cry…every time I hear them!
25. I am continuously inspired by Jennie Finch’s heart as it is displayed through the words in her blog.

25 again

1. I have 6 TWLOHA shirts – I still want more!  It is my intent to have one in EVERY color.
2. While most people have aspirations to visit some place in Europe or a different side of the globe then the one on which they live, I really wanna go to San Diego.  No idea why, or what started it, that’s just the place that if I found I would be dead in a week or something that I’d wanna visit.
3. My absolute favorite time to pray is in the shower.  It’s the quietest most private place you can get.  Nothing can distract me from talking to God when I’m in there.
4. Despite never setting attending any courses there, outside of the womb mind you, I used to refer to St. Joe’s University in Philly as “my” school.  However, I still despise Villanova University athletics like any other student, both current and former, of St. Joe’s would.
5. I honestly think it’d be awesome to be married to an athlete, especially a baseball player, but if that’s not what God has in mind for me, I’m okay with that.
6. I know I’ve said it recently but I would seriously be a cop just so I could pull over the people who never use their blinkers.  But on the flip side, I can’t stand the sound the blinker makes either!
7. My Converse are blue, how about you?
8. Honestly, I can’t describe to you how much my heart melts at the smiles, hugs and kisses I get from one of the boys who was in the Toddler room so long ago and is now five.  And no, I’m not talking about Kolbi, Jayden or Noah – this time :]
9. I’m over the trashy reality tv craze.  I much prefer positive family reality tv shows like Jon & Kate Plus and 18 Kids and Counting
10. When I was in 3rd grade, I was at Caldor with my mom and however many siblings I had by then (2 alive and kicking, 1 still cooking…haha) and when we were leaving, I ran out the automatic doors backwards and ended up sitting in a box of cacti.  Ouch!
11. Elephants are my favorite animal in the whole world!
12. Perhaps by 2011 I will have a college degree.  At least I hope so!  Will have only taken me 7 years and 4 schools to do it, but hey, I’m doing it!
13.  As much as I used to absolutely love peanut butter sandwiches,  I can’t tell when I last ate one or even why I just stopped.  Maybe it was a case of peanut butter overload.
14. I have been absolutely in love with Lincoln Brewster and his amazing music lately.  Anytime I’ve been annoyed lately, I listen to him and feel calmer almost instantaneously.  And I still think, if we can get Bebo Norman to come to MCC we should be able to get Lincoln Brewster to come too!  If that were to ever happen though, I think I would miss it because I would die of excitement.
15. I’m sick of Dell laptops.  This is the second one I’ve had in less than 4 years and it’s starting to go psycho.  It’s probably dying like the other one did.  I’m ready to join the “Mac converts” club or whatever.  No more Dells for me!!!  If only I could actually afford to do it.
16. Pitching wiffle balls to 3 year old boys is not my forte.  Ask poor Hayden how many times I hit him with the ball.  Poor guy took one right to the face.  :[
17. I have decided that although I’m sure I will not be able to hold it in when the time comes, when I am engaged, there are going to be certainly people I won’t tell with words but wait to see how long before they notice a ring.  Just because I think it’d be more fun and I’m mean.
18. My shadow is black, fuzzy, 4-legged, pointy eared and male.  Figure that one out.
19. I really think I’m gonna let her dye my hair.  I feel like trusting a 14 year old to do it just cause I wanted to get it done the first time, wasn’t the best idea.
20. It’s funny to me when I think about the fact that Joshua Harris is one of my very favorite Christian writers and that in when I was in first grade, Joshua Harris was the kid who pinched my butt and said something about being a sex machine or something like it.
21. Whether you believe it or not, I really am not kidding when I say I can’t swim.  But that doesn’t keep me out of the water.  By any stretch of the imagination.
22. Just for the record, #17 wasn’t an announcement of any kind.  Definitely still not even dating anybody.  Just throwing that out there.
23. Marriage, weddings, engagements, bridal party stuff has been on my mind a ton lately.  But still, not making any kind of announcement anytime soon that I know of.
24. It really irritates me when people ask me how someone else is doing.  Honestly ask them yourself if you really wanna know!  But in certain cases, I am not irritated by it.  Which I know, sounds like a double standard and I guess it kind of is, but if you knew what I meant you would get it.
25. I have 2 teams for Fantasy Baseball this year and I’m gonna tear it up in one of the 2 leagues I’m in!!

The 25 things note on Facebook really had me thinking.  So I’ve decided instead of putting another one on there, I would just put it here.

1. Hearing people say that “Bailey” is a dog’s name really breaks my heart; I’ve wanted to name my first daughter that for at least 7 years now.  Maybe longer.  Currently the combo I like best is Bailey Grace.
2.  Although I’ve done 4 years of college, I still have no degree, but think someday that will change.
3. Love the opportunity to sit through a Sunday morning service surrounded by a bunch of awesome teenagers who truly love God and have no idea how much they’ve each inspired something in me at some point since I’ve met them.
4. I can’t open pop-top cans without slicing my left pinky finger.  And I can’t watch other people open them either.  Ask Chad, I turned around at lunchtime today when he opened my soup for me.
5. In 8th grade I thought I had enough vocal talent to be a singer who sounded similar to Christina Aguilera or Jessica Simpson.  Now I just laugh at the thought.  But maybe it’s because I stopped singing so much that I don’t like how it sounds anymore.
6. I made a new friend today.  Her name is Lauren and she’s 4.  :]
7. As much as my job drives me crazy, pretty much all the time, I’m grateful to just have it.
8. If I’ve ever told you my tailored version of how I broke my nose in daycare, let me fix that for you.  I was actually standing on the swing and that’s how I fell into the pebbles and smashed my face.  Yeah, not the smartest move, obviously.
9. My dad used to drive me crazy when I’d be up to bat during a softball game with all his sideline coaching that I had to forbid him to speak unless I got on base.  My mom on the other hand, could talk all she wanted and I didn’t mind at all.
10. I played softball every year from 3rd to 9th grade except for 7th grade cause I wanted to “take a break”.  I miss it so bad!  Except being catcher and all the pain in my knees that causes.
11. I never used to find it funny when my mom would say “If you marry someone whose last name begins with ‘N’ your initials will spell “AMEN”.”  And now, I think it would be funny if that really does happen.
12. I wrote my first 2 songs in 6th grade.  One of which nobody will ever see cause when I found it again, years later, I was so creeped out by it that I tore it up and threw it out.
13. If I could, I would live on the beach and just write.  All day.  Every day.  Oh and maybe eat something every now and again. 
14. I’ll take an iced coffee over a hot coffee any day of the year.  But if I don’t have an option, hot coffee is still good.
15. I forgot until recently how in love with reading I am.  For example, if it’s reading that is forced on me for school, I won’t do it.  But if it’s reading because I decide I want to, I can’t stop.
16. Reading articles, interviews or listening to interviews on the internet given by Christian athletes are the best ones.  They leave me with the most hope, inspiration and courage.  My favorite is still, and might always be however, Josh Hamilton’s story.
17. I hate movies as first dates.  They never go well.  I mean, seriously, how the heck are you supposed to get to know more about someone in a place where carrying on a conversation is considered rude and distracting?  Someone please explain this to me if you get it.  Cause maybe I’m just dense.   Oh and let’s not forget the whole going to dinner before or after the movie too.  Wow, awkward.
18. Women who do their make up and drive at the same time don’t just scare me, they tick me off too.  Trust me, you can wait the 5 minutes to put the mask on ladies.  However, if you can’t, I’m sorry for you.
19. It’s funny how I hated being 16 and yet, that is my favorite number.  But I think it has more to do with the fact that my birthday is on the 16th.
20. My perfect meal would make a lot of people cringe.  Philly cheesesteak (Pat’s, Geno’s, Tony Luke’s…doesn’t matter which) with green peppers onions and mushrooms on it, Philly soft pretzel, large double chocolate gelati from Rita’s and a Pepsi.  Oh my word, just thinking about it is making me hungry.
21. I had an imaginary friend in 8th grade.  His name was Jordan and I wrote a paper about him.  No lie.  If I find said paper, maybe I’ll put it on here then you’ll all know this crazy side of me has existed forever :]
22. I have absolutely no rhythm on my own, but if I watch other people and follow them, I can fake it pretty good.  Thanks Dad.  Haha.
23. I hate the cold and the snow and yet I’m very much looking forward to an entire weekend of it for Deep Freeze with a bunch of rockin’ teenagers and some pretty chill leaders too.  Maybe God’s trying to find ways to break me of my disdain for this season…
24. I was rescued from the “pain” of being a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles when I was 6 years old.  Thank you — you know who you are!!
25. While I am not overly excited about who was elected as the new pres, I’m gonna try not to be critical of him.  It’s not his fault I don’t agree with him.
